Visa Information for International Students

Visa information for International Students

We know that having access to up-to-date, accurate and reliable information on visa options can be critical to international students. We also know that many students find it difficult to navigate the many web pages on the Department of Home Affairs and State Government websites. Australia’s visa system is extremely complex and unfortunately not very forgiving of mistakes, even where people have tried their best to comply with visa requirements.

While it may be tempting to look at online groups or compare notes with friends, it is important not to rely on these sources as eligibility for visas can vary depending on many factors including age, course of study, country of passport and changes in visas over time. Just because someone who sounds like they are in a similar situation received a visa, it does not mean that you will also be eligible.

CISWA cannot provide advice on visas and we strongly recommend that students seek out advice from a qualified Migration Lawyer or Registered Migration Agent in order to ensure you are receiving personalised advice that matches with your unique situation.
