CISWA is an independent, voluntary, non-profit organisation which operates with financial and “in kind” support from the following Western Australian universities and colleges:
WHAT IS CISWA?
The Council is composed of people from Australian voluntary organizations, student representatives from international student organizations and other groups interested in the well being of overseas students.
WHAT DOES CISWA DO?
CISWA offers support to international students in many areas including:
- Production of the booklet “Everyday Living in W.A. – A Guide for international Students”
- Advocacy and Liaison with Government Departments
- Maintaining close links with student organizations
- Networking with student support staff at institutions including monthly meeting
- Confidential advice and information and referral service
International Women’s Group (IWG) for wives and mothers of all international students and women students.
Hospitality and Social Activities
This program aims to establish contacts and foster friendships between international students and the Australian community as well as encouraging cross-campus links between students.
Bus Trips to Places of Interest
Annual Programme, prepared each year, to places such as the Pinnacles, Penguin Island, Albany
Country Hospitality
CISWA in association with community clubs provides an opportunity for international students to spend a weekend in the Western Australian country hosted by a local family – contact your International Student Adviser for details.
Christmas Hosting with Australian families throughout Perth and Fremantle suburbs
