CISWA- The Council for International Students of Western Australia, is an independent, voluntary, non-profit group which was established in 1963 to promote the wellbeing of international students living and studying in Western Australia.

The Council is run by volunteers who are current/retired staff from a variety of WA education providers. CISWA also provides important support to the staff who work with international students. Educational Institutions or organisations are encouraged to become a member of CISWA so they can access the monthly CISWA Working Party meetings ( listen to a guest speaker and a great networking opportunity with international staff from other WA institutions), discounted rates to the annual winter conference and an informative monthly e-newsletter.

CISWA offers support to international students through:

  • Affordable Student Day Trips (Caversham, Pinnacles, Penguin Island)
  • Country Hosting
  • Christmas Hosting
  • Maintaining links with student organizations
  • Supporting the international staff through providing PD Seminars, Working Party meetings, Annual winter conference, so they can in turn provide improved support and service to students
